copper / aluminium

Why this process

  • Breaks the aluminium oxide layer without flux.
  • No corrosive flux residue on the joint.
  • Lighter joints for the same conductance.
  • Low heat keeps insulation intact.

Typical applications

Aluminium wire harnesses · Cu-Al transition splices · lightweight automotive cable · battery cable aluminium terminations.

FAQs

Why is aluminium hard to solder?

Aluminium forms an oxide layer instantly, so solder does not wet it properly — ultrasonic welding breaks the oxide mechanically instead.

Is flux used?

No. Avoiding flux is a main reason aluminium harnesses are welded rather than soldered, since flux residue corrodes aluminium.

Can aluminium be welded to copper?

Yes — Cu-Al transition joints are a standard use of this machine.
