The 4010 welds copper foil to nickel. Copper spreads heat away quickly while nickel melts at a high temperature, so the usable temperature window at the interface is narrow; bonding comes from friction breaking the oxide rather than from melting, which preserves copper conductivity and nickel corrosion resistance.
