Ultrasonic terminal and wire-harness welding demonstration.
At 90 sqmm the joint is already a large cross-section: one stroke has to compact the whole strand bundle and break the oxide film, which depends on adequate horn area and steady pressure rather than simply pushing more energy. At this size the fixture must hold the entire bundle to prevent splayed strands, and weld time is noticeably longer than on small gauges.
